We finally did Spring Break

There's a first time for everything and this is the first time we actually went somewhere for spring break. When we were in school we stuck around to get caught up on studying and when we were teaching we spent the little free time we had working on house projects. It was high time that we got with the program, don't you think?

We were talking about going south somewhere but hadn't firmed anything up until our friends called and invited us along on their camping trip. Sold! Even though it was last minute I'm so glad they called because we were this close to spending yet another year making trips to Home Depot. Instead we got packed, drove over 5 hours to St. George and went camping. Another first for us is camping with three kids for three nights!

We stopped for an early lunch in Salt Lake and let the kids run around.

Keeping the tarp down in the wind so we can get the tent set up and keeping the kids occupied at the same time.

One of my favorite parts of tent camping is waking up with the sun.

The kids loved climbing rocks and digging in the dirt. And that's pretty much all they did for three days.

The first order of the day was a little hike.

I can't remember what this place is called but the rock slab was awesome and was a natural staircase.

Ellie was a great climber on all our little jaunts

And this little dude was such a trooper hanging out in the carrier most of the time.

This was a cool little cave that was on the way to Pioneer Names. We never made it that far and just hung out here.

We didn't get any pictures but after playing in the dirt all day we went to a fun splash pad in the city to cool off.

We all slept great even though Alvin was teething, I was suffering from allergies and we had very little padding.

Olivia had the best hiking buddy who helped her the whole way up and down.

The water was fa-reezing but the kids wanted to get in anyway. Some got in all the way and slid down the natural slide into the pool and others just waded.

Alvin got pretty good during this trip at sleeping anytime, anywhere.

We had such a fun time doing the Spring Break thing that I think it may become a tradition! And now that we know we can camp successfully with three kids I foresee many camping trips in our future. Happy Trails!
