Our Missionaries

For FHE we've been learning about missionaries and missionary work. We wrote letters to our nephew serving in Peru and to my parents serving at the Scanning Center in Salt Lake.

Then I realized we hadn't yet made it down to see my parents at the scanning center. They've been serving for I don't even remember how long but when we go to visit we always go on the weekend or on their days off. So we made a special trip down on a Tuesday to take a tour.

They have a large warehouse where the documents come and go.

One of my dad's main jobs has been to cut the bindings of books. It can be done by hand with a knife or with a large book cutter.

This is the library where they temporarily store the books for scanning and then when they are finished they ship the books to another location for permanent storage.

I didn't get any pictures of the giant scanning machines but they were very impressive. My dad is currently a scanner and my mom works as an arbitrator and they love what they do! It was really fascinating to see all the steps of the process and it was fun to see them in the thick of it all. We're so proud of our missionaries!
