Thank You Veterans
Two men from our neighborhood left the week of Veteran's Day to serve their country in active duty. The scouts in our ward set up these flags along the streets they live on so they would see them on their way out of town. It was very moving for the rest of us to see.
One of the men who was deployed is Eloise's nursery leader. I explained to her where he was going and that he was going to keep us safe from the bad guys. She colored him a picture and we delivered it the day before he left. They hugged and it was such a sweet farewell. Then a couple days later, Richard overheard her playing in her room. She was pretending and keeping the bad guys away from Brother Price. Richard told his wife at church and she started tearing up. Then a week or so later, Eloise received a card in the mail from him thanking her for being so brave and keeping him safe.
I am thankful for the men and women who serve and who have served to keep each of us safe from the bad guys. Our country is far from perfect but it is people like Brother Price that make the world a much happier place. Thank you!
