10 Year Anni

 We would have loved to go on a cruise somewhere exotic or go to Europe or someplace exciting for our 10 year anniversary but we felt like our kids weren't quite old enough to be left for that long and we didn't want to blow through our savings. Instead, we made plans to go to Park City. It was the perfect stay cation and we loved every minute of it!

Here we are kid-less and fancy free on our way.

We couldn't check in to our hotel for a few hours so we started on the activities we had planned. 

First we went on a hike.

Then we tried out the Alpine Coaster and Slide. 

 

I've never skied before [gasp--shocking I know] so this was my first time on a ski lift.

I was terrified of crashing on the slide to begin with but about halfway down I got the hang of it and had a blast! Richard's ridden it before and left me in the dust.

After a super fun day of playing and seeing the sights we changed and went out for some sushi. 

Such a beautiful town.

The sushi was amazing but didn't quite fill us up so we stopped by a grocery store and bought some goodies. We used the cracker box for a plate and watched HGTV. We know how to live it up!

The next morning we went on another fun hike before touring Olympic Park. 

Oh how I love this man!

 

He was so patient with me while I stopped to take random pictures of flowers and trees and him.

Olympic Park was pretty cool. It brought back all the memories of 2002 watching the Olympics in my own backyard. Ironically Richard was on his mission in Vancouver for the 2002 Olympics and here in Utah for the Vancouver Olympics.

We were there right during training season.

 

We ate lunch at the Junction and did some shopping. Then it was back to the old part of town for dinner--pizza in a bar.

Our last day we packed up and had another scrumptious hot breakfast at our hotel and were on our way to 7 Peaks in Provo for some swimming. 

 

We were really bummed because we had planned at some point on this trip to go zip-lining but at one location it was closed down and at another it was such a short little ride that we didn't want to waste our money. So swimming was kind of a back up.

On the way through the canyon we started doing some more research for another zip line we could do. We found this awesome one that takes you on 5 separate zip lines down the mountain through the trees. We were sold! We had just barely passed it a couple miles up the road, made a quick u-turn and got all geared up to go.

It could not have been more fun!

Lastly, we stopped for a snack and one last hike up to the Bridal Veil Falls. 

It wasn't Hawaii or Cancun but it was just what we needed, time spent just the two of us, falling in love all over again.
