2 Years Old

Where has the time gone!? Two years ago today our lives changed forever as we became parents. Olivia isn't a baby anymore and somewhere along the line she became a little girl.

Just a few other things:

As you know Olivia is now a big sister and she is a really good one. She always calls Eloise to come for prayer when she's not there, she burps her and loves doing tummy time with her. She makes a funny fake sneeze after Eloise sneezes.

She has become a better mommy to her babies now that Eloise has arrived. She puts a burp cloth on her shoulder, makes kissing noises with the binky and loves to take her babies for stroller rides.

Always looking out for others, Olivia makes sure Dad has more if he has finished eating something. He doesn't seem to mind at all, especially if he's just eaten a doughnut or a cookie. And when Dad gets home and gives me and Olivia a kiss, Olivia says "Dad. Eloise kiss" just so she isn't left out. 

Who knew she was even capable, but she teases and makes fun of Dad--which is hilarious. I ask what time it is and she holds her wrist and says "It's [pause]... doodot" (Dad always pauses like that). She talks with a deep voice like his. And the funniest thing is when she shares food with him and then on the last bite when he goes to reach for it, she'll hurry and pop it in her own mouth.

Dry cereal just isn't enough these days. She has to eat it with milk and a spoon. So grown up!

Stickers are the new fascination. I love them, too, because they keep her occupied while I'm nursing. I just keep peeling them off and she puts them on anything and everything, including all over both of our faces.

She's showing lots of independence like wanting to put on her coat by herself and making lots of choices.

Her speech is really taking off and she can say three word sentences. But she has also started signing less and sometimes it's hard to understand her.

She can count to 10 with prompting (if she skips 4) and knows all her letters by sight and sign. She can sing/say the alphabet almost perfectly. This video is from a couple of months ago and she's gotten a lot better since then. We knew she was smart, but knowing her numbers and letters before the age of 2 has me a little worried. It's not going to be easy keeping up with this kid!

We sure have loved watching this girly grow the last 2 years and love her more everyday!
