Come Have a Ball
It's not everyday you turn 2 and we wanted to do something special for our little ball of energy on her birthday. I love to throw themed parties and it didn't take long to think of the perfect theme for Olivia this year. She loves balls. She plays soccer in the house with this little ladybug ball all the time and whenever we ask her what she did in nursery she says and signs "ball." After I got planning I was amazed at how many other "loves" I was able to incorporate.
The Invitations
We invited some of the boys and girls from Olivia's nursery class, but for one reason or another most couldn't come. The beginning of January is a tough time to have a birthday because it's right after the holidays and people are either still partying with family or are getting over colds they caught from being with family. Anyway, one family, good friends of ours with two little boys, was able to come celebrate with us.

The Games
Basketball
Richard brought home the basketball hoop he uses in his classroom and it was hard to pull the kids away from it to go to the other games.
Bowling
Do you recognize the bowling lane? There's more than one use for this Halloween Costume!
She was so excited when the pins got knocked down. These pics don't do it justice.
Volleyball
Ball Room Freeze Dance
FREEZE!
Olivia loves, loves, LOVES Ring Around the Rosie or as she puts it, "Wozie"
The Food
Beach Ball Fruit Tray with Dip
{If Olivia had to choose only one thing to eat for the rest of her life, it would be fruit!}
Pizza Balls
Above: cupcakes with sprinkles and multicolored lemon heads on top.
Below: Trix Balls (i.e. Rice Krispies Treats made with Trix cereal)
She doesn't like to be the center of attention and burst into tears as soon as we started singing to her. Maybe next year she'll enjoy the birthday song. Luckily when we got done singing she calmed down enough to enjoy her cupcake.
She and I were playing Peak-a-Boo over the food. What a cutie!
The Party Favors
These were fun to make because they also included things that Olivia loves like...
