Meet Virginia - Part I
My grandparents (Poppy and Dessie, as we call them) live in Virginia. We rarely get to see them. It's been over six years since the last time so none of the great-granddaughters had met them yet. We were all feeling the need to get back and see them and my parents planned this incredible trip and we went.
Our girls finally got to meet Virginia.
Our girls finally got to meet Virginia.
It was the first plane ride for all the little girls. And my parents surprised us by buying First Class tickets which was definitely a first for the rest of us. I was so stressed before the trip just knowing that we would be flying with two very young children. I had no idea how I was going to keep them happy and entertained for 4 hours. But they were champs the whole way. Eloise slept most of the first flight and Olivia watched Doc. McStuffins and other kids shows the whole way out.
We are completely ruined for normal coach flights now. Thanks Mom and Dad. No but really, thank you! It was an awesome experience. There was a hot omelet on the way out and a pepperoni calzone on the way back with unlimited drinks. The seats were huge and comfortable and Richard had all the leg room he could want.
We had an hour layover in Atlanta.
We are getting to be such a large crew that staying at Poppy and Dessie's is out of the question. Mom found a cabin to rent that was only 10 minutes away from their house. On Saturday we got together with cousins and had a bbq.
My dear Poppy gets sweeter and more handsome every time I see him!
We had a great time to relaxing and visiting.
This cabin was one of the funnest places I've ever stayed. It's on the Jackson River with trees and grass and so many fun things to do.
Dessie lovin' on the girls.
Poppy's health hasn't been very good lately but these girls just seemed to put the life back into him.
Sitting on the porch, watching the deer cross the field.
Olivia caught an ant.
Then I caught a frog.
And Eloise caught a Daddy Longleg.
Waving!
Spotting the deer.
We had a fun, relaxing Sunday evening and watched the deer until they left the field. Then the fireflies came out and we chased them around the yard. Dessie then showed us her Evening Prim Roses which bloom at 9:00 on the dot when it gets dark. They are amazing to watch because they bloom in a matter of seconds!

What a BLAST! Glad the plane trip went well and that you had so much time together; isn't it great bringing babysitters along. ;)
