How Does Your Garden Grow?
We decided to have a go at a garden this year. At the very least we wanted to learn how to do it and try to get something to grow. Because of all the rain this spring, we were worried that we planted too late. But things were looking up for us and the garden got off to a very good start. We planted carrots, green onions, spinach, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, beans, and peas.
Then we went on vacation and this is what we came home to...

Well we definitely got something to grow. The tomato plants are so huge it's been difficult getting in between the rows to pick and the squash plant...well, you can see for yourself! We have loved gardening and being able to simply walk out back and pick something for dinner. I have loved getting up early and spending time in the dirt weeding and pruning--the smell of dirt has always been very therapeutic to me.

We have yet to see any beans or zucchini (The zucchini had a rough start because of bugs and we replanted and even transplanted and we're hoping it'll eventually make it) and we only have a few carrots coming up. But so far we are very pleased with what we did get.
Good for you! Summers must be great for teachers because they have so much time to garden.
