Fall Break

We had a fun-filled Fall Break with Richard being home. He still had to work on lesson plans but we were able to fit in a lot of other activities, too. Here are some of the things we did:

Yard Clean Up (Wednesday)

We got up early and cleaned up the remnants of our garden, mowed, trimmed, shut off the water, etc. and then packed up and went over to my in-laws to do the same at their house. It feels good to have it all taken care of and ready for winter.
Family Pictures (Thursday)
Coming Soon!
Lagoon (Friday)
We won two tickets to Frightmares from a 5K we ran this summer. A neighbor friend took care of Olivia so we could go.

The lines were long but we were able to ride the White Roller Coaster, Colossus, BomBora and at least a half dozen other rides.
It's been since our honeymoon that we had a good Churro...

Carousel

 The Rocket
Good Times!

Pumpkin Walk (Saturday)

We've been wanting to try the KONG ice cream cone at Macey's ever since we saw one lucky teenager eating one this summer. It was huge. It was cheap. It was good.
Best $1.39 we ever spent!
Okay, on to the Pumpkin Walk. Neither one of us had been to it in years, something like 7 for me. I remember it being a fun outing for families and student wards but I was not expecting the high traffic we would experience on this night. It seems to have become the main attraction lately, not only to the locals but to cities surrounding Cache Valley (I mean, we Brighamites were there, weren't we?) and we had to park blocks away. People were even being bussed in! The line went on forever and I was afraid we weren't going to get in before we had to get Livi home to bed. We made it thru, though, in just under an hour and a half! And it was worth the wait.

Our favorite scenes were Dogs Playing Poker...
Dog-gone Good!
... and I Spy. If you can't tell, each item is a pumpkin/gourd and looks pretty realistic.
They even had the list so you knew what you were searching for. We couldn't search for long though, because the line kept moving at a steady pace.
I thought it was so creative!

i'm cute and itsy-bitsy
It was hard to focus on painted pumpkins with this spectacular sunset going on around us!
We had the camera on the wrong setting so we look pretty gnarly in this one, but it's the only one we got of the whole family.
We didn't think she was going to like this photo op. but we were wrong!
 We had fun!

This Fall Break has been a nice mix of work, play and relaxation. It's probably good it ended when it did because we were both feeling like student teaching was over and we were back to our old selves again. We can't get too comfortable with that idea, yet.
