Pirates
The theme for Speech this year is PIRATES! We { I } had a lot of fun decorating...
Olivia did great while we put the finishing touches on everything and even fed herself a bottle and bounced herself to sleep. What a trooper!

Buried Treasure:
The students can move their "key" each time they come to speech if they follow the Pirates Code of Conduct (Classroom Rules).
Battleship:
When the students make it half way to the treasure chest they can try to sink Captain Hook's Pirate Ship by choosing a gold coin from the chest which has a number on it. They then draw the same number from the chart below. If the back of the card is a color of one of the battleships, they've made a hit and get to choose a prize from the treasure chest. If it is blank, they've missed. And if there is a star, they get to try again.
I'm always impressed with the fun and unique things Richard comes up with to keep his students interest alive. He's getting quite the reputation so that kids that don't come to speech hear how fun it is and wish they could.
So creative, love it!
